Current chapter of our story on turning a 120-acre former industrial site into Chattanooga's Next Great Experience — In the Trenches With Utilities.

Utility work continues at the Bend. We anticipate the North Phase of infrastructure will be wrapped up this spring! We have installs currently going on with EPB, Tennessee American Water, Chattanooga Gas, and partners with the City of Chattanooga - Government for sanitary sewer and stormwater. While not that exciting, laying this groundwork is essential to be able to move forward with vertical development.

SNOW DAY at the Bend! ❄️ Today is one of the very few days our crews have had to shut down due to weather since we started construction last spring. S/O to our partners for all of their hard work. We hope they've enjoyed a fun and safe day off!

Where are we? We've tied into the main water line along Riverfront Parkway (the major road running from one end of the development to the other). We've brought in hundreds of thousands of pounds of supplies for the stormwater system and are installing major manhole boxes. And, we continue to work on electrical and fiber. While utilities may not be the most exciting hot topic of the day, we sure are pumped about this foundation for Chattanooga's Next Great Experience!

Anyone remember all that concrete we dug up earlier this summer at the start of construction? Nearly all 12,000+ cubic yards of it has been crushed and turned into RCA (recycled concrete aggregate) and will be used as general fill on site. Throughout this adaptive reuse project, our team will be working strategically to recycle and reuse as much as we safely can.

Canal at 10th | Plan vs. Current State

We're shaping roads, installing utility infrastructure, and looking forward to seeing one of our favorite new roads — Canal Street — come to life!

Things are moving right along! We're seeing green down at the Bend, where Blocks 2, 4, and 5 are graded and ready for future vertical development (S/O to and ). This past week, we kicked off the install with for electrical and fiber optic infrastructure and continued work on the sanitary sewer lines. We're also crushing thousands of cubic yards of recycled concrete aggregate to be reused on site, working with the environmental experts at to confirm the highest and best use. More utility work in the weeks ahead!

This is monumental news for our One Westside neighbors! We look forward to continued collaboration with the WestsideEvolves development team and moving forward with our plans to revitalize this critical area of downtown and the riverfront.

"A Dream Come True!" Chattanooga was awarded a $50 million HUD Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grant for the revitalization of the One Westside community. The federal government selects only seven communities across the country, and we're extremely grateful that our city and the (CHA) were chosen.

This week our team had the honor of attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the James A. Henry community hub, which is the kickoff project for the WestsideEvolves development plan across from The Bend. What an exciting week!
We look forward to continued collaboration with CHA, the City, and the County as we work together on carrying out the One Westside TIF plan and developing the Bend.

Exciting news for Block 2! As of last week, it's prepped and ready for seed, straw, and future development! We have exciting multi-family residential plans for this block. The construction team will continue grading work on the rest of the North Phase, with roads being shaped for upcoming utilities like sanitary sewer and stormwater.
