What do you want to leave behind?
Most people think legacy is a house, a retirement account, or a piece of land.
Those things matter. But they aren’t the legacy. Legacy is what keeps working after you stop.

Dolly Parton understood that.

She turned what mattered to her into something lasting: free books for children, investment in her hometown, and generosity she could watch at work. Most importantly, she built things that could keep going without her. There’s a lesson in that for all of us. You don’t need millions of dollars to leave a meaningful legacy.
