🚧 PARDON OUR PROGRESS, CHEBOYGAN! 🚧

Beginning Monday, September 14, the City of Cheboygan will begin an important paving project along Water Street and surrounding downtown areas.

From September 14–18, crews will be milling and removing existing pavement. Drivers should expect changing traffic patterns, temporary parking restrictions and limited vehicle access in some areas as crews work their way through the project.

The good news? Downtown is OPEN! ❤️

Most businesses along the project area have their primary entrances on Main Street, so shopping, dining and doing business downtown can continue throughout construction.

Need another place to park? The municipal parking lot at the corner of Huron & Division Streets is a great option, along with the municipal lot at City Hall/ The Opera House.

A little patience now means a big improvement for downtown for years to come!

Wrapping up our Employee Spotlight Series is Samantha "Sam" Ostwald, one of our talented Escrow Officers!

Sam joined Cheboygan Title Agency in October 2025 and has quickly become a familiar face to our customers and partners. From day one, she embraced the challenges of the title industry and has excelled in her role, demonstrating a strong commitment to learning and providing exceptional service.

Before joining our team, Sam spent nearly 10 years with Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union (formerly Calcite Credit Union), where she gained extensive experience in a variety of positions including teller, collections, certified financial counselor, loan officer, and assistant branch manager. She concluded her time there as Assistant Branch Manager, bringing with her a wealth of financial and customer service knowledge.

Since joining Cheboygan Title Agency, Sam has proven herself to be a quick learner, an excellent problem solver, and a valuable member of our team. Her positive attitude, dedication to her work, and willingness to jump in wherever needed have made her a tremendous asset to our office. Whether she's assisting customers through the closing process or helping navigate complex transactions, Sam consistently delivers the professionalism and care our clients deserve.

Continuing our Employee Spotlight Series, we'd like to introduce Becky Hyde from our Typing Department!

Becky joined Cheboygan Title Agency in April 2024 and has quickly become an important part of our team. While much of her work happens behind the scenes, it plays a critical role in every transaction we handle. Becky takes the detailed research completed by our examiners and transforms it into the title commitments our customers receive, ensuring the information is organized, accurate, and easy to understand.

Before joining Cheboygan Title Agency, Becky built an impressive and diverse professional background. She served as the Waverly Township Clerk beginning in 2012 and has worked in a variety of positions including assessing office administration, secretarial roles, dispatching, and customs coordination within the sawmill, logging, and trucking industries. These experiences have given her exceptional attention to detail, organization, and customer service skills that she brings to our office every day.

We appreciate Becky's dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment to accuracy. Her contributions help keep our files moving smoothly and ensure our customers receive the quality service they expect.

Next up in our Employee Spotlight Series is Lyndsey Ross, our receptionist and order desk processor!

Lyndsey joined Cheboygan Title Agency in December 2021 with no prior experience in the title industry. Through her dedication, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic, she quickly became an invaluable part of our team.

Originally from St. Ignace, Lyndsey has called Cheboygan home for nearly 19 years. Before joining our team, she worked for the Bankruptcy Resource Group from November 2018 until November 2019, when the company's Cheboygan office closed. Prior to that, she spent five years cleaning homes in the Mullett Lake area and also enjoyed two years as a stay-at-home mom.

As the leader of our Order Desk, Lyndsey is often the first person our customers, realtors, lenders, and agents speak with when opening a new transaction. Lyndsey is also known to lend a helping hand throughout the entire process of a file where she can. Her positive attitude, friendly personality, and commitment to excellent customer service help ensure every file gets off to a smooth start.

Lyndsey's ability to stay organized, handle a fast-paced workload, and maintain a positive outlook makes her a tremendous asset to our company. We are grateful for everything she brings to Cheboygan Title Agency each day!

🌟 Continuing Our Employee Spotlight Series! 🌟

Next up is Danielle Kuznicki!

Danielle joined Cheboygan Title Agency in March of 2021 after spending eight years working at the Presque Isle County Courthouse. Her extensive experience with recording requirements and processes made her a valuable addition to our team from day one.

Over the years, Danielle has taken on many important roles within our office. She currently leads our Typing Department, oversees all final policies, and carefully proofs documents before they are sent for recording to help ensure accuracy and efficiency. Most recently, she has expanded her expertise by assisting with construction draws. Danielle has also jumped in to assist the closing department with closings on busy days. To put it lightly, Danielle can do it all!

Danielle's dedication, attention to detail, and willingness to take on new challenges have made her an essential part of our team. We appreciate everything she does for Cheboygan Title Agency and are proud to spotlight her this week!
