We love to see the variety of ways the Saline community makes a difference for our neighbors in need! With the government shutdown affecting many of our local households, every contribution, whether food or financial, goes to keep the shelves stocked and neighbors supported.
However, an overall trend we have noticed is that donations have decreased while the need has increased. Here are 5 simple ideas to help stock our shelves!
🎁 Create a "Giving Box" at Home
Keep a donation box in your pantry and add two items per grocery trip. When it's full, bring it to SASS.
🎁 Host a Workplace Food Drive
Invite coworkers to drop off canned goods and pantry items at your desk or breakroom.
🎁 Give a Monthly Donation
Set up a small recurring donation (even $10/month helps!) to help provide steady support for families year-round.
🎁 Watch for Meijer Simply Give Match Days
On these days, Meijer will triple your donation! The next Simply Give date is December 13, 2025 at the Ann Arbor-Saline Meijer.
🎁 Give the Gift of Time
Spend time as a family volunteering with SASS. We have a range of cheerful activities each month from stocking shelves to picking up donations from local grocery stores.
