🇺🇸 Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸
Can you believe it’s been 250 years since our nation declared its independence? That’s a pretty impressive run.
Fun fact: One of our Founding Fathers, John Adams, was convinced we’d all be celebrating on July 2nd because that’s the day the Continental Congress voted for independence. He even wrote to his wife that it would be remembered by future generations with celebrations, parades, bonfires, bells, games, and fireworks.
Well… he got almost everything right. We just picked July 4th instead—the day the Declaration of Independence was officially adopted.
As for our house, I’m pretty sure my wife has been preparing for this holiday since sometime around… last July 5th. 🤣 If there’s a place to watch fireworks, she’s already mapped out the best viewing spot. I’m just along for the ride, the snacks, and pretending I know which firework was “the grand finale.”
However you’re celebrating today, I hope it’s filled with family, friends, good food, and gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy.
