“Alisha was a great agent to have on my side. I have worked with a few agents in the past and I must say she takes the cake. I will miss house hunting with her but on a great note we were able to close on our new home only months after having her work with us. One thing I truly value is finding businesses I can trust — especially when it comes to my dog. 🐾

I’ve been using Lakeside Pet Lounge since they first opened their doors years ago when they were still in Monroe, and I honestly do not regret trusting them with my fur baby. Lia and her team genuinely care about the animals they watch, and that makes all the difference.

I always receive updates, communication if they have any questions or concerns, and peace of mind knowing my dog is in good hands while I’m away. Whether you’re heading out of town or just need doggy daycare, I absolutely recommend checking them out.

Supporting good local businesses matters, and this is definitely one I stand behind. ❤️🐶

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the incredible mothers, bonus moms, grandmothers, mother figures, and women doing their best every single day. 🤍

Today is a reminder that strength doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it looks like showing up tired, continuing anyway, building a life for your family, chasing goals, nurturing others, and still finding a way to keep going.

As a business owner and mother myself, I know firsthand how much love, sacrifice, patience, and resilience motherhood requires.

To every woman balancing family, work, healing, growth, and dreams — you are seen, appreciated, and valued.

Wishing you a beautiful Mother’s Day filled with love, peace, and moments that remind you how important you truly are. 🌸

Bringing in another year of life: cancer free, overall in good health, and surrounded by the ones I hold dear to me.

Thanking God for the strength He gives me every day and the blessings I continue to receive. 🙏🏾

Celebrating both of our birthdays, our anniversary, and Mother’s Day all in one trip 💚🥳🇵🇷

This getaway has turned into one big celebration for our family!

This trip has me seriously thinking about relocating to PR 😩

Even our oldest is loving being connected to his roots so much, he’s actually talking about a future move here 🥰 It reminds me so much of Jamaica… might have to make that our next stop!

Thoroughly enjoying every moment ✨

Going on vacation and I should’ve handled this a week ago, but I waited until the last minute to book my braids. I was specifically looking for knotless braids because I’m tender-headed (yes, even with all this hair 😅), and everything I found was fully booked.

I even asked around in Facebook groups with no luck. Then I did a quick Google search and found this spot—honestly, Google has been coming through lately.

From the moment I walked in, the vibe stood out. The owner, Tasheema, was welcoming, down to earth, and had snacks ready (which I definitely needed). We had great conversation the whole time, and she worked efficiently—I was done in about 4 hours, which is faster than what I’m used to.

My hair feels good, looks good, and most importantly, it’s not overly tight. That alone matters. Safe to say I found my go-to braider.

She also mentioned one of her close friends there does silk presses, so that’s on my list to check out once the weather cools down.

They have a full setup of beauty services too—nails, facials, waxing, brows—everything in one place. Worth checking out if you’re in the area.

Keeping things pretty low-key this week so I can reset and get back into the groove next week.

I did take one quick signing today — a hybrid HELOC that took about 15 minutes and was only a town over, so it was an easy in-and-out.

The rest of the day has been simple: dropping my husband at the train, getting Gizmo to the groomer for a much-needed bath and trim, and being back home handling life while he’s at work.

Nothing crazy over here — just running to the supermarket later and letting my eldest handle burger duty (he’s really good at it).

Also, small wins: my husband’s business cards came in (yes, he designed them himself), and my roaming booth and printer arrived. Slow days still move the needle.

Here are five that fit the post and your vibe:

Today looked like this:
• Get toddler out of bed, diaper change, wake teen, get ready, pass kids on to hubby and leave.
• HELOC closing in the AM (Notary Business)
• Meeting with a fellow event vendor
• Running my photo booth at an event (Event business)
• Coming home and making dinner (Mom + wife duties)

Same day. Same person.

Balance doesn’t mean doing everything at once. It means building work around your life—not sacrificing your life for work.

Service-based businesses are one of the most practical ways to create flexibility, especially if you have kids or responsibilities at home.

Had fun today with my fellow linkers at .
We spent time brainstorming each other’s businesses and tossing around ideas for an event a few members are planning later this year. This kind of collaboration is always productive.

At the end of it all, put us on the spot with a solid question: What advice would you give someone who’s struggling?
There were a lot of great answers.

What came to mind for me was this: bumps in the road don’t automatically mean failure, even the big ones. Sometimes the right move is to pause, look things over, reassess, and then come back to it. Maybe with more clarity. Maybe from a different angle. What would be your advice? .fernandez
