Yesterday, on Memorial Day, I received one of the most thoughtful and unexpected acts of kindness. Big Earl’s Crab Shack called and gifted me a dozen extra large crabs and a pound of shrimp in honor of my son, A1C Dewayne Austin Stevens, who proudly served in the United States Air Force. ❤️🇺🇸
There are moments in life when simple acts of kindness mean more than words can ever express, and this was one of them. Knowing that these two beautiful ladies took a moment out of their busy holiday to remember my son and honor his service touched my heart deeply.
Memorial Day can be difficult for many families who carry loss alongside pride, and gestures like this remind me that kindness, compassion, and remembrance still exist in such beautiful ways within our community.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone at Big Earl’s Crab Shack for your generosity, thoughtfulness, and for helping keep Dewayne’s memory alive. It truly meant more than you know. 💖
