The national average 30-year fixed mortgage APR is 5.590%. The average 15-year fixed mortgage APR is 4.840%, according to Bankrate’s latest survey of the nation’s largest mortgage lenders.

National Mortgage Rate Trends:
For today, Tuesday, May 10, 2022, the average rate for the benchmark 30-year fixed mortgage is 5.57%, up 12 basis points since the same time last week. If you're looking to refinance, the national average 30-year fixed refinance rate is 5.53%, an increase of 14 basis points over the last week. Meanwhile, the national average 15-year fixed refinance rate is 4.82%, up 16 basis points from a week ago.
