You have seen many candidates, but I think you will agree that I’m a different kind altogether. It’s a pleasure to live and work in the same small, Northwestern Wisconsin, town I grew up in. Together with my wife, Julie, and my parents, we run a family owned firm called Six Lakes Realty. Just like the majority of our members, I list and sell properties every day, and have an opportunity to be the
manager as well. A diverse background and inquisitive spirit often gives me a unique approach to problems that have alluded others. As a Naval Officer and Aviator, I was taught to look at situations from 15,000 feet (literally and figuratively). This skill allows me to often overlook the small multiple obstacles that may be standing in the way of progress and focus on the ultimate goal that needs to be achieved. Serving as a Naval Officer developed and honed my leadership skills. I learned how to create and execute a plan while being flexible enough to adapt when things change. But the most important thing I learned, was how to live by the Navy and Marine Corps core values of Honor, Courage and Commitment. Core values that guided me then and still guide me in my business and volunteer work today. My experience in the REALTOR® Association world ranges from Local Board Treasurer and President to State Treasurer and President. I have also served as NAR Regional Vice President for Region 7 and NAR’s REALTOR® Party Member Involvement Liaison. In addition, I have served on a multitude of committees, Presidential Advisory Groups and Work Groups at all levels of the REALTOR® organization. Much of my life has centered around service: from community to country; to business and profession; and most importantly to my family. From my early years in Boy Scouts to service as a Naval Officer to my involvement in the REALTOR® organization, giving back has always been a part of who I am. What gets me out of bed every morning is the desire to improve the lives of our members and a belief that a strong, financially healthy NAR helps our members be successful each and every day. Member success is what motivates me and that is why I want to be a leader and an officer of the National Association of REALTOR®.
