Shelley was pursuing her master’s degree in public health when she fell in love with helping people navigate the adventure of buying and selling property. She loves putting all the pieces of the puzzle together from what type of property her client wants, the negotiations, following all the details through to closing and maintaining the relationship afterward. Shelley’s business is 99.9 percent re

ferral based – reflecting the quality of the long term relationships she builds with people. In her previous office Shelley was often named the number one Realtor and has been one of the top Realtors locally for the past 10+ years. She consistently has been listed in the top 1 percent of Realtors nationwide. Shelley works to make the process fun and personable yet very professional for her clients. She is both diplomatic and conscientious, with a strong “can-do” attitude. Managing people’s expectations is a core value for Shelley, along with helping her clients understand the real estate process based on existing market conditions. Shelley specializes in people – her clients and their referrals and not by neighborhood. She works with all types of clients from first-time buyers & sellers to seasoned investors and across all levels and prices of properties. When not working, Shelley enjoys running, yoga, and spending time with her two children, ages 8 & 10. Shelley also has a great love of animals especially dogs and donates 1 percent of all of her commissions to the Humane Society. Her beloved chocolate Labrador Maddie, who died in 2012, was often pictured in her business cards because, like people, Shelley believes that everyone deserves a good home.

"We bought our new house after looking for over a year. Shelley worked with us the entire time, helping us to understand the trade-offs between different attributes about houses and neighborhoods as we refined our criteria. She never pressured us to move more quickly and was a true partner in our search. We trusted her fully when we found the house that we loved and as a result were able to lean on her as we thought about the type of offer we’d like to submit. Ultimately, her intel and instincts were spot on and we won the bid. She subsequently has followed up with us multiple times, checking on the status of the house and ensuring that repairs that were promised by the seller were actually completed. I cannot recommend Shelley highly enough!"

First night in Croatia and I think I’ve already found my people. After leaving Poland, I decided to kick things off with a walking food and wine tour through the Palace. Honestly, it was the perfect way to get my bearings and learn a bit of the history.

The food... wow. 🍷

We started with some incredible local antipasto and charcuterie, followed by a black cuttlefish risotto that was surprisingly delicious. We also tracked down a Burek—apparently, it was featured on Somebody Feed Phil, and now I see why. We topped it all off with some local gelato, because you can't really say no to that, can you?

I’ve always been a "try anything once" kind of traveler. I might not love every single bite, but you have to give it a shot to really know a place. Tonight? No misses. Everything was 10/10.

Feeling very full and very lucky to be here. 🇭🇷✨

Ok, as an agent, I see ordinary and extraordinary homes on a regular basis. But one thing that makes Washington unique are the embassies and the international residences we have throughout the city. Want to see some? This fun WaPo article has them…dive in!

He’s an imposing 20-foot tall bishop, but everyone ignores the artistry just to grab his foot. 👣. Legend says if you rub his big toe and make a wish, it’s coming true. You can’t miss it—the whole statue is dark bronze except for that one toe, which is polished to a bright gold by millions of us looking for a little extra luck.

I rubbed that huge toe for a good minute—never can have too much luck IMO. My hand smelled like pennies afterwards (yay for hand sanitizer), but if brings some good luck, I’ll take it. 🥂✨

Swipe to see the "golden" toe in all its glory.

So, in the interest of being a thorough traveler, I’ve made it my mission to have at least one a day. You know, for research purposes.

I don't think I've quite crowned a winner yet, so I’m definitely going to have to come back just to finish the official "taste-off" I started. It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it! 🇭🇷😋

I had a total "realtor moment" while exploring Diocletian’s Palace. This place dates back to 305 AD, but while everyone else was looking at the views, I spotted a makeshift construction wall and couldn’t resist peeking behind it.

I managed to wiggle my way back there and ended up meeting the chief engineer in charge of the foundation repairs. He showed me six different layers of the foundation, each from a different time period. It was like a literal walk backward through history!

The "geeky realtor" in me was in absolute heaven learning how they’re repairing a structure this ancient. It definitely puts our "historic" listings back home into perspective! 🏗️🧱🇭🇷

Had a bit of a "wow" moment at dinner last month that I had to share.

I was sitting there working my way through some incredible squid ink risotto (and yes, it turns your teeth black, but it’s worth it!) when I found out the restaurant is in a building from the 12th or 13th century.

The restoration work is just beautiful. They actually left one small patch of the wall completely original and unrenovated so you can see the difference. It really puts things in perspective. I used to think the old stone and brickwork back home on Capitol Hill and Georgetown were "old," but this place has a few hundred years on us! 🧱🍷

There’s just something so cool about leaning against a wall that’s been standing for over 800 years while you have a glass of wine. Definitely a highlight of the Croatia trip so far. 🇭🇷✨

Checking off another bucket-list item! 🇭🇷🤿

Being an enthusiastic diver, I couldn’t pass up the chance to explore Croatia from a different perspective. I headed under the surface to see what the Adriatic had to offer. I’ll admit—the water was a wee bit nippy (definitely woke me up!), but once I settled in, it was pure bliss.

There’s just no match for the peace and quiet you find down there. It really is my "happy place." 🌊💙

After drying off, I followed a tip from a Philly native who traded the East Coast for the Croatian coast (small world, right?). He pointed me toward a little beachfront spot for some local delicacies. A perfect meal, a view of the water, and plenty of sunshine—I couldn’t have asked for a better ending to the day.

Feeling very lucky and very full. Life is good! ☀️🍽️

One of the most powerful stops on this trip so far. 🕍✨

We visited the JCC Krakow, and the story here is something you have to hear to believe. If you look at the official census, it says there are only about 100 Jews in Krakow. But walk through the doors of the JCC, and you’ll find over 1,200 active members.

Why the gap? It’s both heartbreaking and hopeful. For decades, many Polish parents and grandparents hid their Jewish identity to protect their families from the trauma of the Holocaust and antisemitism.

Now, a new generation is "pulling back the curtain." People in their 30s, 40s, and 50s are just now discovering their true ancestry and reclaiming a heritage that was kept secret for their own safety.

Seeing this community come back to life is moving beyond words. It’s a reminder that we were not erased. Jewish life in Krakow isn't just a part of history—it is vibrant, it is growing, and it is loud and proud.

My heart is so full knowing that the light is being turned back on. 🕯️💙
