There’s one moment from my career that will forever be etched into my brain: when I watched a grown man tear up over the height marks on the door frame of his grown son’s room.

Nobody prepared me for that part when I got my license 😅

In that moment, I learned that my job is more than just staging and photos and paperwork.

It’s standing beside people while they say goodbye to years they can’t get back. Watching them run a hand along a door frame one last time. Nudging them to pack up trophies and photos and every little trinket that made that house feel like theirs.

But here’s what I know after doing this over and over: the memories never stay behind with the walls. They move with you, fully intact, ready to fill up wherever you land next.

Everyone is so focused on where rates are going that they’re forgetting the actual question.

And the actual question is: what does waiting cost me?
