Women's Equality Day is observed annually on August 26, commemorating women's right to vote throughout the United States. Women were granted the right to vote on August 26, 1920, when the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution was added, stating that the federal government did not have the right to deny the right to vote based on an individual's s*x.

Wyoming was a pioneer in women's voting rights, passing the first territorial suffrage law in 1869. When Wyoming became a state in 1890, it became the first official U.S. state where women had the right to vote.

I scream, you scream! We all scream for ice cream! 🍨🍦

If you haven't guessed, July is National Ice Cream Month. And today is National Ice Cream Day! It's a perfect time to cool off with a scoop of your favorite flavor. President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month, along with the third Sunday of the month, as National Ice Cream Day.

Like with other foods, the exact origin of ice cream is unknown. What we do know, however, is the origin of ice cream likely dates back to A.D. 54 to 68 during the time when Nero was Emperor of Rome. Evidence shows harvesting ice or snow, then flavoring it with honey or other flavorings to make ice cream. Originally, ice cream was only an occasional special treat, mainly for the rich. The invention of mechanical refrigeration and other improvements in technology made ice cream more available to the general public.

On July 10, 1890, the United States of America welcomed Wyoming as the 44th state into the union. Happy birthday, Wyoming! 🎂

Wyoming has also had some significant firsts in US history — the first to grant women the right to vote (1869), home to the first National Forest (Shoshone National Forest, 1891), and the first National Monument (Devils Tower, 1906).

As America celebrates 250 years of independence, it's worth taking a moment to remember how it all began.

On July 2nd, 1776, the Continental Congress voted in favor of independence and appointed a five-man committee- including Thomas Jefferson of Virginia, John Adams of Massachusetts, Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania, Robert R. Livingston of New York, and Roger Sherman of Connecticut- to draft a formal statement justifying the separation from Great Britain. Two days later, on July 4th, 1776, delegates from the 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence, written largely by Jefferson. 📜

Today, the 4th of July remains an important national holiday and a beloved symbol of patriotism, with leisure activities and an occasion for family get-togethers, often involving fireworks and outdoor barbecues. ✨

The Cheyenne Board of REALTORS® Amazing Race has officially arrived at TownSquare Title! 🏁🌭
Today we're hosting Realtors and Affiliates for a little game called Sausage Stokes, where precision, strategy, and apparently ketchup-and-mustard painting skills are all equally important. 🌭😆
At this point, we're not sure if we're running a title company or opening Cheyenne's newest condiment-themed art gallery.
The competition is on, the laughs are loud, and the hot dogs may never recover.

Juneteenth is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. 🕊️ Deriving its name from combining "June" and "nineteenth", it is celebrated on the anniversary of General Order No. 3, issued by Major General Gordon Granger on June 19, 1865, proclaiming freedom for enslaved people in Texas. Originating in Galveston, Juneteenth has since been observed annually across the United States, broadly celebrating African American culture and history. ✊ The day was first recognized as a federal holiday in 2021, when President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act into law.
