🍂 FALL Heating & HVAC TIPS:
• Test the heater early: Turn your thermostat to heating mode on a mild day in October to ensure the system blows warm air. This gives you time to notify the office of any issues before the first major cold snap.
• Clear space around vents: Move furniture, curtains, and rugs away from heating vents or baseboards to ensure proper airflow and avoid fire hazards.
💨 Draft Prevention & Insulation
• Check window and door seals: Feel for cool drafts around windows and exterior doors. If you notice leaks, use temporary, damage-free draft stoppers.
• Switch your ceiling fan direction: If your apartment or townhome has a ceiling fan, Set your ceiling fans to spin clockwise at low speed. This creates an upward draft that pushes warm air trapped at the ceiling back down into your living space.
• Utilize heavy curtains: Hang thicker curtains over your windows and close them at night to help trap heat inside the apartment.
