Home sales prices continue to reach new heights, and record gains in equity are motivating an increasing number of sellers to put their homes up for sale, according to Homelight’s 2022 Buyer and Seller Insights Report.

With multiple offers common in many markets, many homeowners have high expectations when it comes to the sale of their home.

More than 40% of sellers believe their home will sell for more than the asking price, and about half of those surveyed expect to retain 30% or more of the sale price as a profit.

A luxury campground just two hours from Chicago is set to open this weekend, complete with safari-like tents, gourmet s’mores and wooded grounds with the Vermilion River running through them.

There’s a two-night minimum for stays in one of Camp Aramoni’s 11 safari-style tents, which were imported from South Africa. Each can sleep up to six people, and come with hardwood floors, king-sized beds, ensuite bathrooms, heat and air-conditioning. The cost is $450 per weeknight or $550 per weekend night, which includes breakfast, dinner and more for 4 people (additional meals available for $50).

The property’s chef is Carson Barger, formerly of Tangled Roots Brewing Company in nearby Ottawa, Ill. The director of food and beverage is Cleetus Friedman—formerly of Heaven on Seven, Theater on the Lake and City Provisions in Chicago—who is bringing in Chicago chefs, including Gaijin’s Paul Virant, the Publican’s Paul Kahan and La Sirena Clandestina’s John Manion, for pop-up visits throughout the year.
