It's sad to see how the developer of the failed Spire project is throwing his weight around.
What's even more sad is that the brilliant architect behind the design of the tower, Santiago
Calatrava, never got paid for his work and is not likely to ever see the payment for it
(despite his eleven-million-dollar-plus lien against the empty hole).

The Irish developer behind the failed Chicago Spire project filed a federal lawsuit in Chicago Tuesday, alleging it’s owed $1.2 billion and boasting that anyone else who tries to build a “project of this dimension would be doomed.”
