My closing yesterday was one I’ll remember for a long time. Not because it was easy. Quite the opposite. A few months ago, an old high school classmate reached out to me and asked me to represent her. There’s something uniquely meaningful about getting a call from someone who has known you since your teenage years and trusting you with one of the biggest financial decisions of their life decades later.

What neither of us knew at the time was how complicated this transaction would become. At one point, the deal was officially dead. Terminated. Over. Most people never see what happens behind the scenes when that occurs. The conversations, the problem-solving, the difficult decisions, and the effort it takes to put something back together after it has already fallen apart. But sometimes a transaction deserves another chance.

Yesterday, my client sat at the closing table and got it done. Real estate has a funny way of reminding you that relationships matter. Decades can pass between high school and a phone call asking for help, but trust has a way of finding its way back. Huge congratulations to my longtime high school classmate turned client! Thank you for placing your trust in me. Seeing this one through to the finish line made yesterday’s closing that much more rewarding. Still sold against all odds! 👏🏾❤️

April 21 this stunning townhome hit the market, and 2 days later, my client called wanting to see it before catching a flight to Costa Rica that same night. Timing? Tight. Opportunity? Even tighter. I was all the way in Batavia and couldn’t physically make the showing myself, but I moved quickly to coordinate a private tour for her. Minutes after walking through the door, she texted me and said, “Shari, I LOVE it. Let’s write an offer.” The next day, before drafting anything, I personally toured the property myself because I believe every REALTOR® (licensed and ethical) should physically see a home before advising their client to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars into it. The moment I stepped inside, I knew it was the one. Meanwhile, my client was in Costa Rica living her best life while I was back home stepping fully into negotiation mode. By then, the seller’s agent informed me there were multiple offers on the table, with an open house scheduled for April 26, which was the next day. We needed to stand out so I got strategic. I curated a compelling offer package designed to capture the seller’s attention immediately and it worked. Our offer was so strong that the seller canceled the open house altogether, and we were officially under contract. Unexpected hurdles surfaced during the transaction forcing us to pivot quickly. What originally was already considered a fast closing suddenly became an 18-day close after moving the closing date UP by 5 additional days because my buyer needed to leave for Ireland for a friend’s wedding. 18 days. Needless to say, I was applying pressure everywhere necessary to make sure every moving part stayed on track. And by God’s grace, we closed successfully this past Thursday, 5 days ahead of schedule. The townhome was listed at $825,000. My buyer purchased at $870,000. $45,000 over asking. This market is competitive and when you truly want the home, strategy, timing, relationships, and ex*****on matter. Congrats, AP! Love you loads! Happy Mother’s Day! My heart is so full and I’m beyond honored to be called “Mom” by my amazing daughter. What a beautiful weekend filled with love, laughter, and gratitude. Finally made it to Southern Chicago and whew… the food and service were exceptional! That jalapeño cornbread, fried chicken, Cajun pasta, pork chop and date cake? Each bite was a blessing. lol. Praying for every woman longing to become a mom and every heart missing their mother today. Praying God wraps His loving arms around you with comfort, peace, and endless love. So thankful for my honey and broke bestie for making this weekend absolutely amazing. God is so great!

Happy Monday! Just want you to know that some home features look great in photos, but others make people (me) weirdly happy every single day. 😉

From Uptown to Bronzeville. For the past two years, my sellers attempted to sell their condo with another realtor without success. On December 26, 2025, they reached out to me, ready for a fresh start. By January 29, 2026, we were officially on the market, and the response was immediate.

Within just 3–4 days, we received approximately 25–30 showing requests. Strong interest quickly turned into multiple offers, and by February 3, 2026, my sellers were officially under contract. Like many transactions, this journey came with its share of complexities, including a near setback the day before closing, but every challenge was met with strategy, persistence, and precision. In the end, we crossed the finish line successfully a few weeks ago.

Fast forward to yesterday: My clients officially closed on their beautiful duplex-down in Bronzeville. It was a journey and I’ll leave it there. James 1:2-4 got us through. 😉🙌🏾

It means the world to me when clients trust me with both the sale and purchase sides of such important milestones. This was no small feat, and I’m incredibly grateful. A huge thank you to my clients for placing their trust in me, and to everyone who played a part in getting both deals to the closing table.
