Prairie Avenue Lofts

Prairie Avenue Lofts includes 138 condominium units over 11 floors. The brick, stone, and terra-cotta commercial loft was converted to residences in 2001.

Built in 1922, the Atwell Building was one of Chicago's largest printing and publishing buildings and was designed by Alfred Samuel Alschule. The first three floors housed the Atwell Printing & Binding Company's manufacturing and publishing operations. Upper floors were leased to various textbook and magazine publishers and also served as the headquarters of Rotary International (1923–1928). In 19

52, the nearby Revere Camera Company (320 E 21st St) purchased the building to expand the production of recording electronics. The building was acquired in 1960 by the 3M Company.

Annual dryer vent cleaning is scheduled from Dec 5 to 8 (Tuesday to Friday). This is 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 and costs $70 a unit. Vent cleaning is done for everyone's safety and building upkeep.

Check your email for your scheduled date/time for cleaning. Please contact the Westward360 property manager immediately if there are any problems. [Cleaning rates increase to $175 for later dates and owners are fined for non-compliance.]

Be advised that Fox Valley Fire & Safety will be on site between 9a and 11a on Wednesday (Nov 8th) to perform our annual fire sprinkler inspection. This should not affect anyone's day-to-day activities, but you may hear the fire panel beeping.

During the time that the contractors are working on your floor, please refrain from walking on the carpets if possible. Once your floor has been completed, you may walk on the carpets as normal.
