G-Spang Real Estate and Property Management a full service Real Estate and Community Association Management company, is pleased to announce that Gary Spangler, the Designated Managing Broker and one of the owners of G-Spang Real Estate and Property Management located in Chicago, Illinois, has been elected to serve as the President-Elect of the HomeTown Association of REALTORS® (HAR) for the November 1, 2023 to October 31, 2024 term and will be installed as the President of HomeTown Association of REALTORS® effective November 1, 2024.
HomeTown Association of REALTORS® is a nonprofit real estate association with approximately 500 members and business partners. HAR membership is made up from the counties of DeKalb, Ogle, Lee, Whiteside, and other surrounding counties in Illinois. HAR also has a Multiple Listing Service called MRED (Midwest Real Estate Data) with over 50 thousand members.
Gary was elected by the Membership and has served on HAR’s Board of Directors since 2018. Gary currently serves in a leadership capacity for the Association Leaders, which governs policies and procedures for the organization. He has also served on several committees, with the most recent being the Diversity Committee.
Gary is also an Illinois licensed Community Association Manager (CAM) and holds several professional designations through the National Association of REALTORS®. Gary is also active in several local Chambers of Commerce and currently sits on the Board of Directors for the West Ridge Chamber of Commerce in Chicago. Additionally, Gary owns a U-Haul dealership in the Chicago area near Rogers Park and Edgewater.
In his spare time, when he has some, he enjoys camping, hiking, being in nature and the company of his two Russian Blue cats, Earl Grey, and Roo.
