Every year around January 1st, I start to feel, see and hear the sighs and ughs from real estate advisors and entrepreneurs that they have to reset their production and “re-climb the mountain” again in the new year. It’s natural to feel this way. I did until I added a 12 month rolling strategy to my production tracking. You simply track the last 12 fully completed months of production. It’s a much better gauge for tracking because you can see upward and downward trends much quicker.

I did a full podcast episode on this very topic back in May: Episode #278. “A Better Way to Track Your Production. I’ve add a link to it my profile.

You worked hard in 2025! You don’t have to feel like you are starting over on January 1st.

Entrepreneurs get itchy this time of year. We try to push back into our routine too quick without taking the time to rest and relax. In my opinion, rest is a huge part of high performance. Own it. Rest with intention while keeping as many of your routines in place. I still get up early while traveling. There is nothing better watching the sun up while on a beach. I love to work but I also love to travel, eat and drink well and experience new things. We also love to lay low and veg out for a week over the holiday. It’s all part of my life plan. So, please try to relax this week if you can. I know some of my friends and colleagues in 2nd homes markets get busy this time of year but you’ve got “shoulder season” when the rest of the primary markets are nuts. My point is rest is not only okay, it’s imperative for a long, happy life. Get that calendar out and plan your 2026 and remember “Happy advisors and entrepreneurs produce more” ✈️✈️✈️

Amy orchestrated an amazing week for our family leading up to Christmas hitting all of our favorites . We attended a beautiful Christmas Eve service . We love our holiday traditions.

Now it’s time for PJs and snuggling with Theo and Ivy.

Merry Christmas everyone! Our wish is that you are as grateful for family and friends as we are! 🎄🌲🎁❄️

“Don’t hire to grow your business.
Hire to buy back your time.”
— Dan Martell, Buy Back Your Time

Your time is your most valuable asset.
Most people think growth requires adding more work to their plate.
It does not. Growth requires removing the tasks that keep you stuck.
If you want different results in Q3 and Q4, start by eliminating one low-value task today.

Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection.

Connection is the Advantage This Season

The holidays give you a chance to reach your entire network in a way that does not feel like marketing. A handwritten note becomes a real touch point that strengthens trust.

Send early. Keep it personal. Three to five sentences in your own handwriting. You cannot automate thoughtfulness.

Advisors who win the long game are intentional. They send fewer things, but they send the right things at the right time with the right tone.

Winning Is Meeting Your Goals, Not Somebody Else’s

Super achievers are not chasing someone else’s scoreboard. They are clear on what a great life and business look like for them and they build a path that matches it.

The danger is letting comparison, social media and industry noise define what “success” should look like. When that happens, you end up busy, burned out and off course.

Your job is to define your own vision, set goals that align with it and build the habits that move you there. When your calendar and your energy match your goals, you are already winning, regardless of what anyone else is posting.

Use this season to get honest about what you want 2026 to look and feel like and what needs to change in January to move you there.

AI Prompt of the Week | Reflect On Your Year

A strong year begins with clarity.

Before you set new goals, take a moment to look backward and recognize the progress you already made. This guided reflection helps you see the wins, improvements, and breakthroughs that should shape your path forward.

Copy and paste this prompt into ChatGPT:

“Help me review my year using Dan Sullivan’s concept of The Gain. Guide me to measure backward by identifying the wins, progress points, improvements, and breakthroughs I created this year, regardless of size. Ask me clear questions to help me recognize my progress and turn it into fuel for my future goals.”

"You are 100 percent disciplined to the habits you keep."
— Dan Sullivan, The Gap and The Gain

Your habits are writing the story of your results.
Most people think they lack discipline. They do not. They are disciplined to routines that no longer help them grow.

If you want different results in Q3 and Q4, start by upgrading one habit today. Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection.

🛫 The 10 Patterns That Separate the 3 Percent From the 97 Percent

I recorded this week’s episode by pulling back the curtain on the ten patterns I saw over and over this year. These patterns came from coaching conversations, real operational work, and the lessons that shaped me throughout 2025.

My goal is to help you build a life and business that are predictable and enjoyable. These patterns are not theories. They are the truths that show up every time an advisor grows, gains momentum, or steps into the next level.

As you head into 2026, ask yourself which one of these ten patterns applies directly to where you are today and where you want to go. Rightsize is my word for the year because the future belongs to those who simplify and align their inputs with their emotional destination.

Episode 305 is now live. Listen as if we are sitting together one on one.

The 10 Patterns That Separate the 3% From the 97%

Most advisors chase tactics. Elite producers engineer systems.
In Take Flight Weekly #305, I break down the 10 lessons that shaped me the most in 2025—patterns I've witnessed coaching elite producers nationally while running JSIR and building my own business.

The reality:
→ Vision is an emotional destination, not a revenue target
→ 0.25% basis points = $25K per $10M in production
→ Planning without ex*****on is procrastination
→ The 3% fail in public to grow
→ The basics will always work. Less is more.
→ Hyper-local marketing is the next frontier
→ Only 4% receive 2+ handwritten notes per year
→ If you don't plant, you won't harvest
→ The top 1% are obsessed, not committed
→ Rightsize is my word for 2026

Elite performance isn't accidental. It's engineered.

Gratitude is not soft. It is a high performance strategy.

When life feels chaotic, gratitude is what pulls you back to center and keeps your emotional frequency above fifty one percent. That is why my affirmation starts with “I am so happy and grateful” and why I have repeated it thousands of times.

This week on Take Flight Weekly, I break down the anatomy of that affirmation, the science behind why it works, and three habits you can use in five minutes a day.
