🚨 Chicago Announces HomeGrown Purchase Assistance Program
The City of Chicago has introduced a new program providing up to $70,000 in down payment and closing cost assistance for eligible homebuyers. If upfront capital has been the primary barrier to your real estate goals, this initiative directly addresses that constraint.
Program Parameters:
Funding: Grants range from $10,000 to $70,000.
Allocation: The exact grant amount is determined by your Area Median Income (AMI) and the specific neighborhood zone (designated as Zone A or Zone B) where the property is located.
Capital: The program is funded by a $21 million housing bond specifically targeting low-to-moderate-income residents.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must complete a certified homebuyer education course.
- Buyers are required to contribute a minimum of 1% of the total purchase price from their personal funds.
- The purchased property must serve as your primary residence for a minimum of 5 years.
Applications open MONDAY, JUNE 8th!
