Today The Aspire Group Powered by EXIT STRATEGY REALTY takes a pause to honor the life and legacy of Harriet Tubman on the anniversary of her passing.

Harriet Tubman did not wait for perfect conditions. She moved with courage, conviction, and an unwavering commitment to freedom and justice.

She escaped slavery, returned again and again to guide others to freedom through the Underground Railroad, and later served as a nurse, scout, and spy during the Civil War.

Her life reminds us that leadership is not about titles — it is about action.

As I reflect on her legacy, I think about how her example shapes my own journey.

As a South Side girl who grew into the role of Principal Broker of The Aspire Group powered by EXIT Strategy Realty and a community advocate across Chicago, I am constantly reminded that the work we do in housing is deeply connected to freedom, stability, and generational opportunity.

Every time I help someone purchase their first home…
Every time I educate families about property taxes, ownership, or building wealth through real estate…
Every time I stand in a room advocating for equitable housing and stronger communities…

I am reminded that access matters.

Harriet Tubman’s courage teaches us that progress requires persistence. Her life is a powerful reminder that when we open doors for others, we change the future.

Today, I honor her not only with remembrance, but with continued action — working to ensure more families have access to the stability, dignity, and legacy that homeownership can create.

Cook County Property Owners Are Being Pushed to the Edge — And Voting Matters

Across Cook County, homeowners and local businesses are feeling the real impact of rising property taxes.

For many families, these increases are forcing impossible choices — paying property taxes or paying for medication, utilities, groceries, and healthcare.

For businesses, already struggling to make ends meet, it could mean staff layoffs, and even possible closing their doors.

This is not mismanagement.

This is the result of a broken property tax system.

As we approach an election cycle, this issue must be front and center.

Voting is one of the strongest tools we have to force change.

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿:

- Voting by Mail opened December 17th, 2025 and runs through March 12th.

- Last day to use Drop Boxes or Post Office (must be postmarked) for returning ballots is March 17th
