A new homeowner at 70+ years young.
But what you see in this picture is the end game.
What you DONโT see is everything it took to get here.
Almost $45,000 in HomeGrown purchase assistance that, after MONTHS of navigating the process, was almost a no-go over a few dollars.
An attorney inspection period that stretched beyond two months because of solar panels and unanswered questions about how they would transfer.
A listing agent team that was firedโฆand rehired.
A sellerโs attorney who tried to walk away in the middle of the journey.
Eight heirs to the estate on the sellerโs sideโwhich meant eight people with opinions, questions and concerns.
Late-night phone calls.
Early-morning emails.
Hard conversations.
Alarms sounded when they needed to be sounded.
Accountability demanded when it was necessary.
And somewhere along the way, your Neighborhood REALTORยฎ basically became the transaction coordinator, too, wrangling attorneys, agents, programs, paperwork, personalities and deadlines to KEEP. THIS. TRAIN. ON. THE. TRACK.
Because my Buyer had a goal.
And my job was to protect that goal.
Real estate requires knowing the contract.

And sometimes it requires having a heart-to-heart with the agent on the other side and saying:

THIS is the part of real estate people don't always see.
They see the closing table.
They see the keys.
They see the SOLD post.
They see the smiling picture.
They don't always see the months of problem-solving, advocating, negotiating, researching, following up, escalating and refusing to allow a solvable problem to become the reason somebody loses their opportunity to become a homeowner.
And during what has personally been one of the most difficult seasons I have endured, I still showed up.

And I need somebody reading this to understand something:
AGE DOES NOT DETERMINE WHEN YOU GET TO BECOME A HOMEOWNER.
Not 30.
Not 50.
Not 60.
And clearly, not 70+.
Your timeline is YOUR timeline.
