Deborah Smith/Strauss Realty, Ltd Commercial Real Estate Broker I joined Strauss Realty, Ltd. in 2017 following more than a decade as an economic development professional.

My prior experience and knowledge of TIF, Enterprise Zones, and other public sector incentives give me a unique edge in assisting small businesses, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs in buying and selling, and leasing real estate. Before entering the commercial real estate industry, I spent ten-years working for the Greater NW Chicago Development Corporation (GNCDC). First managing the agency's Local Industrial Retention Initiative program (LIRI), then serving six years as its Executive Director and managing to keep the organization afloat after it lost crucial State of Illinois grant funding in 2009 during the state and nationwide recession.
