🚨 ZILLOW LOSES ACCESS TO CHICAGO’S MLS 🚨
MRED (the Chicago area’s local MLS) has officially suspended its listing feed to Zillow. Zillow refused to display certain active listings that complied with local MLS rules, which sparked a broader battle over who controls and profits from home seller data. Zillow has unfairly profited from broker and seller created data for years. Now, MRED is fighting back.
📉 What this means for buyers & sellers:
* Incomplete Data on Zillow: If you only use Zillow or Trulia right now, you are missing out. New and updated Chicago listings are no longer flowing to their platforms.
* Public Listings are Still Around: You can still find public MLS listings on Zenlist, Realtor.com, Redfin, or brokerage websites.
* The “Private” Listing Gap: Some homes are marketed privately instead of hitting public feeds. Depending on the level of privacy the seller requires, the listing may or may not flow to public search sites at all.
