A mortgage payment doesn't go up for 30 years.

My parents STILL pay less than the average rent a month on a 2 flat house(on average are more expensive than a single family home) they bought in 1990 even after refinancing and taking out equity loans to upgrade the property.

Rent goes up 5%+ per year. Compound that over 30 years and its 4.5x higher.

People who argue that renting is better are simply wrong
