A few things that have made me happy so far this month 🥰

Okay, you guys…I’m back! 💥 Sometimes it’s hard to post about real estate while actually doing real estate. 😉

But Transformation Tuesday was calling, so let’s play with this kitchen.

Not every dated kitchen needs to be demolished. Sometimes the layout works and the finishes simply need a better outfit.

I kept the footprint, parquet flooring and original character intact, then created two completely different personalities:

A: Modern and moody
B: Warm and timeless

Same kitchen. No walls moved. Completely different energy.

Which one would make you book the showing—A or B?

I know this day carries a different kind of weight for so many people.

For my generation, I think 9/11 was the first national tragedy we witnessed unfold in real time when we were old enough to understand that something terrible was happening, but maybe not yet old enough to fully comprehend what it meant.

I was a freshman in college, young, immature and completely unaware of how much that day would change our country and stay with us.

And yet, 25 years later, I can still remember that day so vividly. Where I was. What I was doing. How blue the sky was. Almost everyone my age can tell you the same.

What I also remember are the days that followed. People softened. Strangers were kinder to one another. We checked on each other. We came together. For a little while, the things that divided us didn’t seem nearly as important as the things that made us human.

So much has happened in our country since then, and every generation has experienced tragedies that have shaped them in ways they will never forget.

But today, I find myself thinking about that sense of togetherness we once had and wishing we could find more of it again.

Not because we have to agree on everything. We never will. But because somewhere along the way, disagreement started making it easier to forget the person on the other side.

My prayer today is that we remember what truly matters. That we lead with a little more grace, choose kindness a little more often, and remember that we are still neighbors.

May we never forget the lives lost, the families forever changed, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the day that changed all of us.

JUST CLOSED | 3240 Park Place, Evanston 🏡

Not my first Evanston closing, and certainly not my last.

This one was pretty special.

I’ve worked with my client’s mom for more than seven years, and this time I had the privilege of helping her daughter and SIL find their way back home to Illinois. There’s something really cool happening in my business lately and that’s clients I’ve known for years are now sending me their children, family and friends. That kind of trust means everything to me.

And then there was this house.

The sellers had owned it for more than 50 years, and you could feel how deeply it had been loved the second you walked through the door. Every nook and cranny was meticulous. This wasn’t simply a house they maintained, nope, it was a home they cherished.

Seven competing offers later… our love letter worked. ❤️

In a multiple-offer situation, price matters. Terms matter. Strategy absolutely matters. But sometimes understanding what matters to the seller is the little piece that brings everything together.
