In recent weeks, Mac Properties has been monitoring the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and the impact it is having on the world and on our communities. We are closely following the current recommendations from Federal, State and local health officials including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Our priority is the health and safety of our employees, residents and clients. As such, we have implemented extra precautions, including increased cleaning and disinfecting within building common areas, and frequently touched surfaces, and have instructed employees who are sick, even with the common cold, to stay home. We are following the guidelines outlined below from the CDC.
For now, our offices remain open with normal business hours. If this changes, we will make sure to communicate with you immediately. For your safety and ours, we have, implemented a no handshake environment. Please do not be offended if we do not shake your hand when visiting.
The CDC has outlined steps you personally can take to help minimize the risk of being exposed to the virus and prevent illness. We have listed the website near the bottom of this letter for your reference. Some of the recommended steps are simple: wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds; avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth; keep about six feet of distance from others, especially in groups or around others who may be sick; and use a Kleenex when coughing or sneezing. It is also recommended that you limit unnecessary travel and prepare for potential sick days, especially if you have underlying conditions. If you have health insurance, check with your provider as they may be providing additional benefits such as reduced copays, reduced tele-medicine doctor visits and educational documents, including documents for those who may experience anxiety over the Covid-19 Virus.
Since the situation is very fluid, the CDC recommends checking its website frequently for the most up-to-date information and follow-up with your health care provider with any health-related questions.
