A safety tip from Safeco Home Inspections Inc.
Remember, never use a power strip when using an electric heater during the winter months as it can melt the power strip and potentially cause it to catch fire!! Electric heater produce a lot of watts that is too much for power strips to handle. Rather plug them directly into a wall outlet without the use of an electrical cord.

Cold weather reminder.

Do NOT plug space heaters into power strips or extension cords.

Plug space heaters directly into the wall outlet.

Powers strips and extension cords are not designed to handle the high current flow required by a space heater and can overheat, causing a fire.
