Highland Park is one of the most welcoming communities in Chicago, and it welcomed Christie’s International Real Estate in 2012 – and every day since. It is a community where dozens of our agents and staff live and work, and thousands of our clients, friends, and family also call home. This is only one reason why we are so heartbroken by the horrific events that occurred at the town’s July 4th parade.

At Christie’s International Real Estate, we live by one word: love. But it is going to take more than love to heal this community and make sure our residents, colleagues, friends, family and children are safe on the street, at a parade, at a grocery store, at a house of worship, or at a school.

Through our non-profit foundation, back, and through the individual efforts of many Christie’s International Real Estate agents and staff, we have raised money and awareness to address the wide-ranging gun violence that plagues our country. We are committed to redoubling those efforts.

We also stand with those municipal, state and federal leaders, including Mayor Nancy Rotering of Highland Park, who are courageous enough to demand that we acknowledge and address the laws of our country that allow civilians – especially those exhibiting signs of mental and emotional distress – to easily obtain an assault rifle.

We are grateful for the law enforcement personnel, medical professionals and everyday civilians who bravely and heroically responded on July 4th.
