Chimney inspection! Chimneys are a very important part of every house. Chimneys are meant to conduct smoke and combustion gases up from a fireplace, gas furnace or gas water heater and typically through the roof ! We inspect seriously every chimney and point out every aspect that can affect the general performance of the chimney or can have other negative consequences against the main structure. Not plum, missing rain cap or spark arrestors , cracked stone cap or a cracked flue liner are few common issues noted at chimneys. Don’t forget, chimney maintenance is also part of house maintenance! Windows are very important components of every house. During our home inspections we make sure we pay good attention to this components and their condition. Window framing is probably the most important maintenance area especially if your home is equipped with wood or vinyl clad windows.

While many homes have wood frames installed, this choice in material is not necessarily a good investment for all regions in the United States especially those areas prone to heavy rain and snow.

If your home has wood or wood clad frames, it’s imperative that you have a regular maintenance routine to ensure there are no leaks or open seams that need caulking.

Built-up moisture in wood materials that is not either removed frequently or the crevice or seam isn’t repaired, leads to mold and mildew and ultimately, wood rot. Failure to perform proper maintenance to your house windows may result in costly repairs!
