Traveled to Hegewisch today to show a property. I say traveled because I live on the Far North Side of Chicago from this isolated, close-knit neighborhood that is located on the far South Side of Chicago, Illinois.

Located roughly 20 miles south of Downtown Chicago, it sits directly on the Indiana state border, bordered by the East Side to the north, the Calumet River to the west, and Burnham to the south.

Hegewisch is known for its peaceful, sparse suburban feel, the area features family-owned businesses, green spaces, and outdoor recreation areas.

The vibe has a distinct "small-town" atmosphere compared to the rest of the city, serving as a tranquil retreat from bustling urban life.
