This terracotta statuette portrays the infant Heracles wrestling a pair of snakes sent by the goddess Hera to slay him in the cradle and it is one of our favorite details found in the buildings we manage. It's located on the front façade of 2056 N. Cleveland Avenue, which has other beautiful terracotta detailing as well. Terracotta was a popular building material during the late Victorian era when the building was built.
