Stacie Young, President & CEO, shared updates on CIC’s lending activity, portfolio performance, and program impact, while Michael Ciaccia, CFO, highlighted key insights on CIC’s financial condition and opportunities for continued partnership.

The program also featured a panel discussion moderated by Angie Marks, with insights from Phillip Moore, Charles Hall, and Steve Thomas on lending trends, portfolio performance, and the evolving affordable housing landscape.

Since 2008, CIC has helped multifamily building owners reduce operating costs through energy-efficient upgrades.

Recently, a 6-unit, three-story brick walk-up in Chatham received a $10,000 Energy & Climate Resiliency grant to fund high-efficiency toilets and faucets, new gutters and downspouts, interior drain tiles, and flood control measures—helping protect the property, lower long-term costs, and preserve affordable housing.

These upgrades help preserve affordable housing, reduce long-term costs, and build resilience in our communities.

Despite being deep into the cold and dark winter months, CIC is busier than ever working with customers and closing loans, while also getting ready for the spring real estate season!

In Q1, CIC financed 11 properties, supporting 89 multifamily units across Cook County. Loans were made in Hyde Park, South Shore, Roseland, and more neighborhoods.

Our very own Managing Director of Lending Moore contributed to this recent article that examines how South Shore is changing ahead of the Obama Center’s upcoming opening. He pointed out that CIC is seeing increased interest from investors in the neighborhood.
