As we wrap up our summer intern highlight series, we’re excited to introduce our final intern spotlight:
Lauren!

Lauren is currently studying Child Development and Family Life at Prairie State College and plans to
pursue licensure in speech-language pathology after graduating in December.

As a CIC intern, Lauren has gained experience learning about property management, nonprofit work, and
the community development programs that help preserve affordable rental housing throughout the
Chicagoland area.

Through this opportunity, Lauren has developed professional skills in a corporate setting while gaining a
deeper understanding of CIC’s mission and the work that supports stronger communities.

We’re grateful for the contributions of all our summer interns and the perspectives, energy, and dedication
they brought to CIC this summer.

We have something exciting underway at 63rd and King Drive!

While we're always busy making loans, this summer we've been thinking of how CIC can deepen its investment in the neighborhoods in which we work. We're thrilled and honored to be working with artist and Woodlawn resident on an amazing new mural at 63rd and King, at the intersection of Washington Park, Woodlawn, and Greater Grand Crossing. This week, he's been busy hand painting a multi-panel mural on a large corner multifamily rental building owned by an experienced owner-operator and longtime CIC customer.

Our goal is to brighten the streetscape and showcase all that Washington Park has to offer, and we can't wait to reveal the completed mural!

For nearly 20 years, CIC has partnered with this customer to support their real estate goals and investment in Chicago communities.

We’re excited to continue that partnership through the refinance of a mixed-use property in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood. Congratulations to CIC Senior Loan Officer Marissa Martinez on closing this transaction.

As summer comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to recognize and celebrate the contributions of CIC’s summer interns.

Throughout the season, our interns have brought fresh perspectives, curiosity, and enthusiasm to their teams while gaining valuable experience in affordable housing, community development, and commercial real estate.

We’re kicking off our intern highlights with Anna!

Anna is a member of the Princeton University Class of 2027 studying Economics.

This summer, Anna supported CIC's Credit Administration team, where she assisted with portfolio reviews by analyzing financial statements, inspection data, and property tax information. Through this work, she gained a deeper understanding of how these different pieces of information come together to help monitor commercial real estate loans.

Anna is grateful for the opportunity to learn more about commercial real estate finance, strengthen her analytical skills, and work alongside CIC’s supportive team.

Stay tuned as we continue highlighting the talented interns who joined CIC this summer!
