As a kid, I disliked Chicago bungalows. Chalk it up to growing up in an old frame home in the city and thinking bungalows were just, well, “brick boxes with a front stoop.”
But years later, fueled by an accidental love affair with real estate, I realized Chicago bungalows are rock stars. They’ve got history, s***k, and enough personality to rival a Cubs fan on opening day. And tough? These beauties laugh at Chicago winters and sneer at the bulldozers that seem to be attacking frame homes similar to my childhood home.
Every bungalow is a unique character in Chicago's story. If you ever catch me daydreaming about brick facades and stained glass, just know I am sorry I every questioned why people loved the Chicago Bungalow.
