One of my favorite things about summer at home: watching these hydrangeas take over the parkway. 🌸

We planted three Endless Summer hydrangeas here in 2020, and this has easily been their best year yet. They’ve grown to nearly 4 feet tall in a pretty compact 4’ x 14’ space and have been producing blooms all summer and into October.

After a little trial and error over the years, I changed up the routine this season: Triple Phosphate + Holly-tone in late April/early May, followed by another application of Holly-tone in mid-August. Morning sun, afternoon shade, plenty of water when it’s hot, and I leave them alone through the Chicago winter.

I’m always seeing people walk by and stop to admire them, so I thought I’d share the formula that worked for me this year. Swipe through for exactly what I did. 🌿🌸

Next year’s experiment: acidifying the soil to try to turn some of these blooms blue. 💙

Checking in on this custom build on the 2200 block of Fremont. 🏠🚧

One of the things that makes this block interesting is the mix of architecture—from historic Chicago homes to newer transitional designs and some very contemporary ones.

This custom build is starting to take shape with its light brick façade, oversized windows, limestone detailing and the arched masonry wall that will eventually frame a private side yard.

Still plenty of work to go, but it’s really starting to take shape.

A little love for Chicago’s parkways. 🌿

It’s amazing how much you can do with that little strip of land between the sidewalk and the street.

Over the years, my neighbors and I have filled ours with hydrangeas, planters, a Limelight hydrangea and I even added some searing this year — turning what was once just a parkway into an extension of my home.

One of my favorite views at the end of summer in Lincoln Park.

The best golf courses go well beyond just the golf. Erin Hills Golf Course ⛳️

It’s the attention to detail — the architecture, landscaping, setting, hospitality and all the little things that come together to create a memorable experience.

Golf and real estate have always been intertwined, and maybe that’s part of why I’m drawn to places like this.

Erin Hills gets all of it right. Rolling Wisconsin terrain, incredible course design, beautiful buildings and gardens, and an experience that feels special from start to finish.

Even better getting to spend the day with clients who share my love of the game. Real estate has introduced me to a lot of fellow golf enthusiasts over the years, and it’s always fun when those two worlds come together.
