Truist is sponsoring its annual Tier 2 Conference virtually this year on September 28th and 29th. In years past, SunTrust hosted this event in person to provide diverse suppliers with information, education, and opportunities to advance their businesses. We’re applying the same theme this year for the virtual conference and intend to have panel discussions, breakout sessions, and matchmaking meetings to encourage business procurement connections. 👏🏾👏🏾 THANK YOU Jackson Park Hospital First Responders! I was so glad to be joined by President Toni Preckwinkle and Commissioner Dennis Deer for our 2nd “Hospital Meal Train Stop” today! We expressed our gratitude and dropped off 70 catered meals from Chef Rome and Chef Claude of Peach's Restaurant in Bronzeville! We are so appreciative of all our healthcare workers in Cook County, and I am proud to be raising funds via our 3rd District Support Fund to provide meals to First Responders. "In the end, Anthony Overton’s life represents an intriguing case study of the power of the human spirit. Despite his setbacks, disappointments, and human frailties, Overton’s accomplishments as an entrepreneur have seemingly stood the test of time. Although the enterprises he established are no longer conducting business, Overton remains an important symbol of African American accomplishment in the realm of business enterprise. In this context, he may, perhaps, inspire a new generation of community-minded African American entrepreneurs in Chicago and elsewhere."

Was great meeting with Illinois’ Congresswoman of the 2nd District Robin Kelly during last week’s trip to Washington, DC to attend the NACo (National Association of Counties) Legislative Conference and discuss collaboration with the federal government to bring resources to Cook County and the 3rd District.
