We have had a lot of special guest stay at our Silo. Some we have become friends with & still stay in touch. We have been blessed to host many celebrations here. Guest have celebrated honeymoons, birthdays, baby moons, anniversaries (even a 50th anniversary) & one even spent 3 days here teaching his pre teen son about “the facts of life”’in a biblical way. This weekend’s guest may have touched my heart more than any other. They had messaged before their stay to tell me that they were celebrating the birthday of their son they lost 4 years ago. They then proceeded to ask where the closest bakery was. Every year on his birthday they go to a different town, stay in an Airbnb, tour the national cemetery & they go to a local bakery to pay for a birthday cake in their son’s honor. Not only did they go to the bakery, but they brought us a gift with this card in honor of their son. Asking us to pay it forward with this card. I was already in tears when I read the card. These people turned a parents WORST nightmare into random acts of kindness. Like how amazing is this!! Then she also sent me a photo that they had placed a flag on my FIL’s headstone. Cue more tears. (This one got Gene too as it’s been right at a year) I had forgotten I had even told them that he was buried there. They did NOT forget. Their entire stay was very intentional. I am not sure I have ever met people this thoughtful before. Please take a moment to read about their son Zachary Britt Cleland. Say a prayer for these precious parents. Perform an act of kindness in his memory or in memory of someone you loved. May we all learn to be more like Jesus intended us to be 🙌. Thank you to the Cleland’s for allowing me to share their story & thank you for touching the hearts of so many people. We were blessed with your presence this weekend & your son’s story.🙏
