BUTTE COUNTY LAUNCHES PREAPPROVED ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT (ADU) AND SMALL RESIDENTIAL HOME PLANS

BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. – Butte County is pleased to announce the launch of preapproved Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) and Small Residential Home Plans, a significant step forward in making affordable, code-compliant housing more accessible to homeowners. These no-cost, preapproved plans are a result of the County's commitment to supporting fire survivors in rebuilding their homes, while also addressing the ongoing need for affordable housing options.

Developed in accordance with California State ADU requirements, these plans are designed to ensure compliance with all necessary accessibility, availability, and building code standards. By offering these preapproved designs, Butte County is simplifying the process for homeowners who wish to build an ADU on their property, whether they are fire survivors looking to rebuild or homeowners seeking to enhance the value of their property.

The availability of these plans marks a significant milestone in Butte County’s efforts to provide an efficient, streamlined, and affordable pathway to construction. Homeowners can now bypass lengthy approval processes, knowing that these plans meet both local building codes and State regulations. Butte County has worked
diligently to develop this program, demonstrating its commitment to those who were impacted by wildfires.
