CARD's Saturday Night Excursions offers a guided adventure timed with the night sky—from moonlit hikes to meteor showers. Choose from equinox and waxing moon, new moon, flower moon, or pink moon hikes. You'll be guided by a certified naturalist on topics from the park’s geology to wildlife and more.

Can’t sleep? Perfect. The moon has plans. 🌕

The Chico Community Observatory will be open late (like… really late) for a total lunar eclipse viewing the night of March 2 into the early morning of March 3!

🕧 Gates open: 12:30 AM
🌑 Eclipse begins: 12:44 AM
🌕 Maximum eclipse: 3:33 AM
🌅 Ends: 6:23 AM

Bring chairs, blankets, and warm drinks — it’s going to be a chilly one! Limited telescopes will be available, and you’re welcome to bring your own. Observatory docents will be on hand to help you navigate the night sky.

🌟 Plus, Laurie Thiede will be sharing “Stories by Starlight” so you can learn exactly what you’re looking at

Before Thursday Night Market officially returns on April 9th, we’re inviting you to a sneak preview.

Join us for First Bloom: Thursday Night Market Preview on Saturday, March 7 from 1–5 pm in the Downtown Chico Plaza.

This is our way of gathering early — with a hand-picked selection of local vendors, chalk and art activities for kids, and a relaxed afternoon to reconnect in the Plaza.

It won’t be the full market (that magic starts April 9th), but it will be a first taste of what’s ahead.

We’re excited. We’ve missed these evenings. And we can’t wait to bring this season to life with you!
