I don’t post this lightly, but I have to say something about the dangers of electric bikes and scooters being ridden at to high a speed and riders too young to know the laws and without helmets.
Those of us walking in the park have to watch out for them. The “bike” riders are being careless and most don’t wear helmets.
Yesterday, our sweet 80 year old neighbor was walking on the newly paved road with her husband ( slowly) and was hit from the rear with no warning by a 7 YEAR OLD riding an electric scooter, watching the speedometer to see how fast they were going. She just came home from the hospital with a broken humerus, wrist and many contusions on her face. This is not just unacceptable but borders on a crime by the parents and grandparents ( who were with the 7 year old) . All those on the electric bikes need to know the laws and BE CAREFUL, this was horrible but totally preventable!!!
