You asked for the full tour, so here it is!

After sharing my first video of 913 Arbutus Avenue, I couldn't believe how many messages and questions I got about this house. Apparently, I'm not the only one who has a soft spot for older Chico homes!

And this is exactly why I love showing homes like this. They have personality, history, and little details you just don't see in every house.

I also think there's something pretty special about living in this part of Chico. Being able to walk to One Mile, spend an afternoon in Bidwell Park, or head downtown for dinner is a lifestyle that's hard to beat.

I might be a little obsessed with this Chico home, and once you see it, I think you'll understand why.

The original hardwood floors, built-ins, wood-burning fireplace, vaulted wood ceilings, skylights, and that wraparound porch. It has so much character, and I love that it still feels like an old Chico home.

And the location? Just a few blocks from One Mile and Bidwell Park, with Downtown Chico right down the road. That's a pretty great place to call home.

Not every day reminds you that you live in a wildfire community, but some days definitely do.

With a potential Public Safety Power Shutoff affecting Paradise and the Ridge starting today and continuing through Friday, it’s a good reminder of what life up here can look like sometimes.

One thing people might not realize is that even though much of Paradise has underground power lines, we can still lose electricity when PG&E shuts off the transmission lines that bring power to our community.

So, today might be a good day to charge those battery packs, check your flashlights, grab some extra batteries, and have some ice ready for the cooler.

And a little local tip: supplies can get picked over pretty quickly up here when situations like this happen. If you’re already heading down to Chico, it might be worth grabbing a few things while you’re there.

It’s just part of living on the Ridge. We get the beautiful views, quieter pace of life, and a little extra preparation when the weather calls for it.

Nothing to panic about, just something to plan ahead for.

Because contingent doesn’t always mean completely off the table!

If you’re searching for homes for sale in Chico, California, you’ve probably seen listings marked “contingent.” But what does that actually mean?

A contingent offer means the seller has accepted a buyer’s offer, but certain conditions still need to be met before the sale can move forward. Sometimes that means the buyer needs to sell their current home first.

I don’t know the specifics of this sale, but depending on the agreement, sellers may still consider backup offers. So it’s always worth asking!

Weekends in Paradise are pretty simple, and that’s kind of what I love about living here.

We finally got our first taste of fall this weekend, with temperatures in the 60s, cool mornings, and perfect weather to get outside.

A coffee run, a little time working in the garden, and a walk with the dog. Nothing particularly exciting, but that’s the point.

Sometimes it’s the slower pace and the little everyday things that make a place feel like home.

Just another reason I love living in Paradise, California.
