On November 6, join the Rotary Club of Chicopee and the Knights of Columbus on Granby Road for a special evening featuring talented Polynesian dancers from the beloved former Hu Ke Lau.

For decades, Hu Ke Lau was known for its Cantonese and Polynesian cuisine, unforgettable entertainment, and iconic Polynesian floor shows. What began as a 150-seat restaurant in 1965 grew into a Chicopee destination that holds so many memories for our community.

Now, we get to relive a little of that magic! 🌴✨ Whether Hu Ke Lau brings back fond memories or you simply want to experience an incredible evening of music, dance, and island spirit, mark your calendar for November 6.

After hosting a community fundraiser that raised an incredible $15,000 for Lorraine’s, Kate had the opportunity to share more about the event, the donation, and why supporting organizations doing important work right here in our community means so much to her.

🌺 Something special is coming this November...

Get ready for an unforgettable evening as talented Polynesian dancers from the beloved former Hu Ke Lau in Chicopee take the stage for a night filled with the vibrant music, dance, and island spirit that so many in our community remember and love, hosted by the Rotary Club of Chicopee and the Knights of Columbus on Granby Road.

Whether you have fond memories of Hu Ke Lau or simply want to experience an incredible cultural performance, this is one event you won't want to miss. In 1965, Johnny and Linda opened the iconic Hu Ke Lau, a 150-seat restaurant serving Cantonese and Polynesian Cuisine and featuring the area’s first Polynesian Floor shows.

"Hu Ke Lau" is Hawaiian for “fishing party”, and it was their hope that guests would have as much fun dining at Hu Ke Lau as Hawaiians have during their fun-filled fishing parties. The concept was a success and as a result Hu Ke Lau expanded throughout the years to include a variety of private rooms as well as a 450-seat showroom which presented a variety of entertainment from concerts to comedy as well as classic Polynesian shows. There is something truly special about being a grandparent.

Grandchildren have a way of reminding us what matters most, making memories, celebrating life's little moments, and creating a place that always feels like home.

As a proud glamma, I know that home isn't just about four walls. It's where family gathers around the kitchen table, where bedtime stories are read, where holiday traditions begin, and where grandchildren always know they're loved.

On this Grandparents Day, I'm celebrating all the grandparents who fill their homes and their hearts with unconditional love. Thank you for the wisdom you share, the traditions you pass down, and the memories you create that last a lifetime.
