Today we assembled 50 Birthday kits a small feat with 20 kids, but Dorry and Hailey ran a tight ship and it could not have been smoother! We discussed why giving back to our community is so important and the importance of the food pantry and how we all need help sometimes. The kids made homemade cards to go in every single kit filled with love and creativity. I was beyond humbled to see the care and thought put into each kit as they selected each item and placed them in the tins. I made 2 cakes from the recipe and everyone received a slice and in their words, āit was the best cake like ever!ā. Today was much more than doing a good deed. It was about learning perspective, doing things with care and purpose, and bringing joy to someone when they need it most, even if you are not in person to share that joy. That is what community is about and these kids are the future of our community.

Thank you to everyone who donated for this project. They will be delivered to the pantry tomorrow. I hope it brings as much joy as assembling did. These kids are already asking about the next project so we have them hooked on serviceā¤ļø
