Both units have 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, hardwood floors, granite counter tops, beautiful decor, and amazing water views! Unit 103 - Beautiful first floor condo in Sunset Bay is located in a private corner of the community. This condo is professionally decorated and has a relaxing, spa-like feel. It has an op

en layout in the main living area with a granite island with counter stools in the kitchen. You can see the bay from the living room, dining room, and kitchen as well as the Master Bedroom. There is a partial water view from the room with the trundle bed. This room also has a unique Assateague mural done by local artist Jan Eichfeld. Come & stay in this unit that feels like an upscale hotel with all the comforts of home. There are two LCD TVs - one in the living room with a DVD/VCR Combo and one in the Master Bedroom with a built-in DVD player. The kitchen has granite countertops & brand new appliances including a stainless steel refrigerator. There is a wall mounted gel fuel fireplace and a great private deck with a spectacular bay view. There are sliding doors to the deck from the living room and the Master Bedroom. A few steps down from the deck is the marina, which has breathtaking sunset views! Unit 213 - This second floor condo is new to the rental market for 2013 and is located close to the fitness center and swimming pool. It is beautifully decorated in a coastal theme. There are many custom upgrades such as cherry wood floors, granite counter tops, and Jenn Air appliances. It is the only unit in Sunset Bay with an extra large shower with multiple jets in the Master Bath. It also has an open lay-out and all of the amenities in Unit 103 including a gel fuel fireplace. Today, Lauren & David (who got engaged 💕💍🥂 in front of my condo in 2014!) rented the first week of August 2026. I’m excited to have the opportunity to host them & their 2 children in a place that has significance for their family. I hope they will become one of our many repeat guests.

Unit 103 is in a special spot. We have the largest part of the marina in front of our condo, and our deck is very private, too.

This seems like a great activity for kids during vacation on the Island 🥰

Looking for your kid to get some pony exposure this summer?? Here visiting the island and want your child to see Chincoteague Ponies up close!!?? Have your children spend summer Tuesdays at Kerkaken Acres with the Drill Team!!!! Each Tuesdays include a riding lesson, learning how to lead a pony, bathing a pony, learning barn chores, grooming and more!!! Each Tuesday with the Ponies runs from 9 a.m.-12p.m. Cost is $100/person. Available for children 5 years old and up. Located in Bloxom, VA.

About the record breaking buyback pony 🐴💕 Look she has blue eyes. She is descended from Misty and fathered by Riptide. Her name? TBD by the person with the winning bid $50,500.

Chincoteague pony history was made this morning!

The auction record for highest-selling foal was broken! This little filly has quite the pedigree—her dam, WH Wildfire, was a descendant of Misty herself, and her sire is the island’s most popular pony, Surfer’s Riptide.

Earlier this year, saltwater cowboys discovered the filly’s mother gravely ill, and the mare tragically died despite all attempts to save her. The orphaned foal was brought to the Leonard family’s farm and was nursed by one of their mares.

The Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company (who owns and manages the wild ponies) decided to keep her as a buyback, a foal who stays wild on the island. Buybacks are auctioned off, but instead of buying the pony, the winning bidder wins the rights to name the pony. “Buying” a buyback is basically making a big donation to the fire company.

There are now several groups of pony fanatics who pool their money to “buy” buybacks every year, and one such group won the auction with a hefty $50,500 donation to the fire company. They named the pony Wildfire's Phoenix.

Phoenix makes a lovely addition to the wild herd!
