Rockwell Home Management

Rockwell Home Management We bridge the gap between hospital care and independent living. We are not a medical agency. We serve three groups across Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire:

1.

Rockwell Home Management offers executive-level home management for independent seniors, preserving your independence and safeguarding your real estate investment. Rockwell Home Management serves the "Missing Middle": older adults who are ready to be home but whose homes aren't ready for them. We are property stewards who ensure the home is safe, functional, and living-ready. Aging-in-Place Older

Adults. We handle the ladders, the furnace filters, and the icy walkways so you don't have to.

2. The Sandwich Generation. We are the local eyes and ears for adult children in the Twin Cities and beyond who are concerned about their parents' homes.

3. Snowbirds. We pair in-person home checks with Custos Hub by Rockwell activity awareness to protect your biggest asset while you winter away. Our promise: you call us, we manage the house. From changing a lightbulb to coordinating a plumber, we are your single point of contact for protecting both your property and your independence. Every relationship begins with a $150 Home Safety & Readiness Audit.

An alarm tells you something already went wrong.
A trend tells you something is starting to.

That is why the Custos Hub dashboard is built on trend lines, not just current readings.

A sump pump cycling a little more each week. A basement humidity line creeping up all spring. A daily routine shifting later and later. Nothing on that list trips an alarm. Each one is a signal.

People and machines both run inside a normal range. The useful information is not the number. It is the drift.

Custos Hub by Rockwell. $150 Home Safety and Readiness Audit gets you started. Call or text (715) 255-0235

To every Airbnb and VRBO host in the Chippewa Valley: what happens at your property between checkout and the next check-in?

Most hosts find out about a problem from a guest review or a cleaner's text. A slow leak under a sink, a furnace that quit overnight, a door that opened on a day with no bookings. Small things become expensive things when nobody knows for days.

Rockwell for Properties puts the Custos Hub by Rockwell in your rental so you have real awareness between stays: water leaks, freeze risk, humidity, entry activity, and air quality, all in one online dashboard. Multiple properties? No problem one dashboard.

If something needs eyes on site, I coordinate the response with local vendors I trust.

$49 per month per property, billed annually.

Consultation and setup quoted at booking.

Big news for Chippewa Valley property owners.

Rockwell Home Management now offers Rockwell for Properties, a safety and awareness service built for short-term rentals and small rental buildings.

You cannot be at your property every day. I can help you know what is happening there anyway. As a certified Fire Inspector and firefighter, I built this service around the problems I see on real calls: water where it should not be, heat that quietly fails in January, doors that open when nobody should be there.

Every property runs on the Custos Hub by Rockwell, our awareness platform that keeps you informed on water leaks, temperature, humidity, entry activity, and air quality between your visits. When something needs attention, I coordinate trusted local vendors and oversee the work so you do not have to drop everything.

As a firefighter here in the Chippewa Valley, I can tell you that many of the calls we respond to involve a fall at home. And many of those happen at night, on the way from the bedroom to the bathroom, in the dark.

One of the simplest and most effective safety upgrades a home can get is a well-lit path.

Rockwell now offers smart lighting control as part of the Custos Hub by Rockwell. Hallway and stairway lights that come up softly in the evening and settle down at night, so the path is always lit and nobody has to think about it. Installed, configured, and managed by us, tuned to how you actually live.

Independence at home starts with small, smart choices. This is one of them.

It all starts with a $150 Home Safety and Readiness Audit. Schedule yours at rockwellhomemanagement.com or call (715) 255-0235.

Your Home Just Learned to Act for Itself.

A small water leak is quiet. That is the problem. In a home that sits empty for the winter, a leak that starts in January might not be discovered until April.

The Custos Hub by Rockwell has always detected water where it shouldn't be. Now the home can do something about it. We are now offering automatic water shutoff, professionally installed and managed by Rockwell, that can close the main water supply when a leak is detected. A burst pipe meets a closed valve instead of an empty house.

If your home sits empty for part of the year, or you help look after a parent's home, this one is worth a conversation.

Every Rockwell relationship starts with a $150 Home Safety and Readiness Audit. We walk the home, learn what matters to you, and recommend what fits. Schedule yours at rockwellhomemanagement.com or call (715) 255-0235.

WEAU shared an Aging Untold segment this week about something a lot of people never plan for: what happens to your pet if you unexpectedly can't take care of it for a stretch.
One of the experts on the show says it about as plainly as it can be said. You might have a fall. You might end up in the hospital. Who's going to feed the dog, take him out, feed the cats and clean the litter box?

As a firefighter and paramedic, I've been in houses where someone left with the ambulance and the animals stayed behind. Usually a neighbor sorts it out, or a family member drives over. Not always, though, and nobody involved is in a good frame of mind to be figuring it out at 3 am.

The show's advice is simple, and I'd echo it. Start with whatever you already do when you go on vacation, because somebody has fed your dog before. Write that name down, ask if they'd be willing to do it on short notice, and make sure your family knows who it is. The experts also suggest setting a little aside for the vet, since money is often what makes a person hesitate to say yes.

That is where my focus comes in: making sure that person can actually get inside. A misplaced key can quickly turn a simple situation into a long, frustrating afternoon, which happens more often than you might expect. Beyond access, there is the issue of the empty house itself. If an air conditioner fails in August or a furnace shuts down in February, any pets inside have to endure those conditions. Custos Hub by Rockwell is designed specifically for environmental awareness, tracking home conditions like ambient temperature, so if something strays out of line, someone is notified and can reach out to whoever is covering.

The rest of it the adoption plan, the rescues that take in older pets, what to put in writing, the Aging Untold experts cover better than I could. Worth watching the segment.

If you want the house end of it handled, that's what the $150 Home Safety & Readiness Audit is for. I walk it with you, and you get a written list, ordered by what matters most. I bring in insured local tradespeople I already know here in the Valley, because I'd rather keep the work in town and with people I trust.

Right now, if you go with a monthly plan later, the $150 is applied to your first month.

Give me a call or send a message if you'd like to get on the schedule.

I read something this week that stuck with me. A big medical research journal, JMIR Aging, just asked researchers to study the exact thing we do here at Rockwell. How technology can help older adults stay safe and independent in their own homes.

Here's the part that stuck. They're not talking about cameras or gadgets people have to wear.

They want the quiet kind of safety that works in the background and respects your privacy. That's the whole idea behind Custos Hub by Rockwell. Gentle activity awareness that gives families peace of mind, without anyone hovering or feeling watched.

I spent years as a firefighter and Fire Inspector, and I learned that the best safety is the kind you barely notice until the day it really matters. The technology is the brain. We're the hands.

If you've been worrying about a parent living alone, start with our $150 Home Safety and Readiness Audit. It's a friendly walk through the home, no pressure at all. Just send me a message, and we'll set it up.

Long before choosing a care facility, most families around here grapple with a quieter, tougher question: Is staying at home still practical?

A few days ago, WEAU reshared an Aging Untold segment highlighting intergenerational centers- facilities that house both a daycare and a nursing home under one roof, allowing children and older adults to share space. The participants clearly thrive on the connection, making it a valuable path that more people ought to consider. It may very well be the ideal fit for many families but not an option for most. Even so, the conversations I have typically begin well before that stage, when no firm decisions have been made.

That question usually gets answered with intuition instead of information. Somebody notices their mom is struggling to clean the house, or that the yard has gotten away from her, and it turns into a worry that sits there for months without anyone saying it out loud. Meanwhile, the person who actually lives there has an opinion about all of it, and she's usually the last one asked.

Having spent years entering homes across this community as a firefighter, I know a house only tells part of the story, though it is the most visible piece. Walking through lets you spot the critical details: where handrails are present or missing, how well lit the stairways and hallways remain, the age and condition of the water heater and furnace, and whether smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are properly placed and operational.

That's what the $150 Home Safety & Readiness Audit is for. I walk the house with you, and you get a written list, ordered by what matters most, and you decide what to do with it. Some of it is a Saturday afternoon. For the parts you'd rather hand off, I bring in local tradespeople I already work with here in the Valley, because I'd rather keep the work in town.

If you want something ongoing, Custos Hub is the environmental awareness piece for the house itself, things like temperature swings, water where it shouldn't be, a door left open overnight. The audit is how it starts, and if you go with a monthly plan, the $150 is applied to your first month.

It won't decide anything for you. It just means that when your family does talk about what's next, you're talking about a house you actually know instead of guessing at it.

Call or send a message if you'd like to get on the schedule.
