Over 41 years I have moved so many times, change has always been so normal and honestly welcomed.
I wasn’t raised in 1 home, with married parents, or had a true single “home base”.
•
But I had this home to always welcome me, the San Diego grandkids, and great grandkids.
The quick exit of the 101 after a long drive with or without traffic, the early morning walks to Cleveland elementary, running across the street to hand with my Tia Annette‘s house, the quick ride to the beach as a kid, or the quick ride to the honor bar as an adult.
•
grandma’s delicious chicken salad if we were lucky or getting the call that “the kitchen was closed” if we got in late. Always counting on a tub or two of Rocky Road in the freezer.
Parties in the back covered patio my grandpa playing pool, or sitting in his chair, asking you about how much you paid for your car🤣.
•
I’m a grandkid, not even a local one. And this was hard for me to say goodbye to. I think about my mom, aunt and uncles and the Love ♥️ they were shown, had and shared in this home.
i’m grateful to have been in this home the day both of my grandparents passed away here.
•
May this home bring another family a legacy that I feel in my heart today with my very own family.
I know we’ll always have this home imprinted in our hearts forever.
