More markets are seeing home prices rise, and the latest data is worth paying attention to.
Just one quarter ago, home prices were rising in roughly 71% of markets. Today, that number has moved to 80%.
That’s a meaningful shift in just three months.
Does that mean home prices are rising everywhere? No. Real estate is local, and what’s happening nationally doesn’t necessarily tell you what’s happening in San Diego.
But it does challenge the idea that home prices are broadly falling or that a widespread housing market crash is underway.
For San Diego buyers and sellers, the bigger takeaway is this: don’t make a real estate decision based on a headline. Look at inventory, pricing, buyer demand, interest rates, and what’s actually happening in the specific San Diego communities you’re considering.
After 24 years in San Diego real estate, I know the market is never one-size-fits-all.
