***EVACUATION WARNING***
Border 2 Fire Early Morning Update: The fire is approaching Otay Lakes Road east of the lower reservoir near sky dive San Diego. This is 3.5 to 4 miles away from Chula Vista.

Out of an abundance of caution the CVFD is issuing an evacuation warning for 3 zones within the City, they are Otay Lakes road moving south on the eastern city limit that includes Eastlake Vistas, Otay Lakes Road/Mountain Hawk Park area and the Elite Training Center.

This is an evacuation warning only. Time to get things packed and ready to go if ordered.

Chula Vista Fire Department is actively coordinating with the watch Commander as well as updating the Chula Vista City website at https://www.chulavistaca.gov/ Click on the red banner, to ensure the community can access further information there.

Southwestern College will be the temporary evacuation location for the community. Notices you see for an evacuation point in east county are for residents east of us.

There are 2 Night Helicopters doing water drops right now and 20 Fire engines positioned on Otay Lakes Road near the skydive center. Fire is still east of the lake and now heading north.

Wildfire in Eastern Chula Vista Near Otay Lake. EVACUATION WARNING in effect. Evacuation site is Southwestern College (SWC). People who need extra time should begin evacuating now in an abundance of caution. SWC is open for residents west and south of the lake.
