Sometimes the best stories have nothing to do with property management.

One of our maintenance technicians, Sean, recently found a wallet containing $500 cash and several irreplaceable personal mementos. Instead of dropping it off somewhere and hoping for the best, he looked up the owner's address and personally delivered it to their home.

The owner was so grateful that they later tracked Sean down through Ring doorbell footage to find out who their good Samaritan was.

Doing the right thing when no one is watching isn't always easy. For Sean, it was simply the obvious thing to do.

We're proud to have team members whose character shows up just as strongly as their work ethic.

Aaron joined Neyer Management in 2018 as a Property Assistant and quickly set herself apart through her initiative, teamwork, and exceptional communication skills. Some structures become landmarks. Others become legends. And a few become both.

This week, the long-vacant grain elevator off East Sharon Road, known locally as the “Hen House,” officially came down. After sitting idle for years, the concrete tower was carefully brought down in a controlled demolition. Crews strategically placed explosives and cut key structural supports to ensure the building fell safely within a designated zone.

The site first drew major attention back in 2014 when an explosion damaged the structure, blowing out its windows. Thankfully, no one was injured, but the facility closed soon after and remained dormant from that point forward.

At Neyer Management, we manage a nearby location and have watched this property stand still for years. Seeing it come down marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of new possibilities for the area.

Progress sometimes starts with clearing space.
