My view this morning as I down my first 20oz of water for the day after a not-so-easy 3 mile run. While I’m not necessarily looking forward to the craziness of school routines, homework, forced reading (which I really slacked on this summer) and full schedules, the hint of fall for some reason comes with a natural tendency to refocus, reorganize and reset goals for me. It’s kinda like New Years, without the resolutions. Life is more structured, which means I am overall more productive, our time with our kids is lessened by school and activities, so I am more purposeful about my time with them and our meals together as a family and I also have more time to myself, which allows me to pursue projects, work goals and self-care that gets pushed aside somewhat during the summer months. Summer, I’m going to miss you…badly, but I will welcome Fall and all that it brings. Winter, I’ll keep trying…

Being a 70s baby that grew up in the 80s, I’m sure glad I’ve only been a homeowner in the 00s and 10s!! Holy cow, as great as the 80s were, I have a new appreciation for the houses I grew up in, and my parents mortgage payments for those houses!! This is one reason the housing market is so crazy right now - SO many people are in the market that may not have been a few years ago.
