If youre remodeling your home, think it over before you start your project! If you're doing it for your own convenience and comfort, then go for it. But if you are doing it solely to increase the value on a sale, then do some research.
Im not a contractor, but as a realtor I DO see that "market ready" homes sell more quickly. Some buyers are just not comfortable taking on projects. But many are, and they are willing to buy a house as-is or with dated cosmetics and make it their own later.

I am always flattered and humbled when a family selects me to walk them through this process. Aside from the emotional challenges of losing a loved one, there are so many "logistical" things to take care of. I am always happy to share my knowledge and my resources to anyone in this situation. I keep hearing from many sources that "buyer activity" is picking up, mainly in the form of preapprovals and mortgage applications. The % rate drop has helped, plus buyers have accepted the fact that 2020's 2% interest rates just arent coming back.
I wish those buyers luck! The data in our area shows that it's ALREADY a "sellers market," as you'll see in the attached graphic.
If you're a buyer, the best advice I can give is to: get preapproved with a realistic and comfortable number; shop within your price range; be prepared to write a "strong" offer to distinguish yourself from the competition.
But this message is really geared toward people who are considering selling. If the time is right for YOU, then the market is clearly in your favor. If you have any questions about the process, or would like a free, no-obligation evaluation of your home, please let me know.
